We’re excited to introduce a fresh feature on our Fotium blog: interviews with talented local artists, paired with a showcase of their incredible work! Today, we’re thrilled to spotlight Lukáš Stehlík, a photographer known for his bold and captivating boudoir photography.

Please note: the images included here are Lukáš’s original creations and not produced by Fotium.
Stay tuned as we dive into his inspirations, creative journey, and a glimpse of his world behind the lens!

1) What gear and software do you rock for photoshoots?

For photoshoots, I rely on my Canon EOS R camera paired with a Canon RF 85mm F2.0 lens. For editing, I use a combination of Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop, utilizing techniques like frequency separation to fine-tune my images. Lighting and setup depend on the theme, but I always aim for clean, professional results that enhance the subject’s natural features.

2) How do you help your models feel comfortable and confident during a shoot?

During a shoot, I focus on making my models feel as comfortable and confident as possible. Beforehand, I chat with them about the concept, answer any questions, and make sure they know what to expect. During the session, I give clear but relaxed directions, demonstrate poses when needed, and always keep the vibe positive and collaborative.

I check in regularly to ensure they’re physically and emotionally comfortable, and I’ll often show previews on the camera to reassure them they’re looking amazing. The key is open communication, a fun atmosphere, and making sure the shoot feels like a team effort. It’s all about creating an experience they’ll enjoy and look back on fondly! 😊

3) What kind of content are you cooking up?

I’m currently focusing on portrait, glamour, and artistic nude photography. My aim is to capture emotion, elegance, and a bit of boldness in every shot. Each photoshoot is designed to tell a story or evoke a mood, blending creativity with the unique energy of the model.

I’m always exploring new ideas and styles to keep the work fresh and exciting, while ensuring each project feels personal and impactful.

4) What would you say to someone who’s nervous about doing a boudoir shoot?

I’d say it’s completely normal to feel a little nervous before a boudoir shoot, especially if it’s your first time. But remember, this experience is all about celebrating you—your beauty, confidence, and uniqueness. My job is to guide you every step of the way and make sure you feel comfortable, supported, and empowered.

We’ll take things at your pace, and I’ll help with posing and direction to bring out your best. You don’t need to be a professional model—authenticity is what makes the photos shine. Plus, the process is often way more fun and liberating than people expect!

It’s an investment in yourself, and I promise you’ll leave feeling more confident and with stunning images that showcase just how incredible you are. 😊

5) Who or what inspires you the most in your work?

I draw inspiration from all over the internet—art, fashion, movies, even random visuals that catch my eye. I intentionally avoid looking too much at work from fellow photographers because, honestly, I’ve been accused of “plagiarism” more than once when something I shot turned out similar to theirs. 😅

So, instead of focusing on specific creators, I channel ideas from broader sources and put my own spin on them. Inspiration is everywhere, and I believe the magic comes from how you interpret it and make it yours. It keeps my work authentic and fun without worrying about stepping on anyone’s toes. 😊

6) Why do you think boudoir photography is so popular with your audience?

Boudoir photography resonates with my audience because it’s more than just beautiful images—it’s about empowerment, self-expression, and celebrating confidence. People love seeing vulnerability and strength captured in a way that feels authentic and intimate. It’s not just about the aesthetics; it’s the emotion, the storytelling, and the individuality of each subject that make it relatable and inspiring.

For many, boudoir is a chance to see themselves in a different light, and my audience connects with that transformation. Plus, there’s a timeless allure to these types of photos—they’re bold, elegant, and unapologetically real, which speaks to people on a personal level.

7) What’s been your most unforgettable or challenging photoshoot so far?

Oh, i don’t remember that sorry 😀

8) If you could work with any model, brand, or photographer, who would it be and why?

I think it would be exciting to shoot something for Playboy—the artistry and iconic style behind their brand have always intrigued me. But honestly, I don’t have a big dream list anymore. Most of what I’ve wanted to achieve, I’ve already managed to accomplish, and I’m genuinely content with where I’m at.

For me, it’s more about enjoying the creative process, collaborating with interesting people, and continuing to evolve my work rather than chasing specific names or opportunities.

9) How do you keep your photography fresh and exciting?

I keep my photography fresh and exciting by constantly exploring new ideas, themes, and techniques. I draw inspiration from unexpected places—art, music, movies, and even everyday life. Experimenting with lighting, settings, and editing styles also helps me push boundaries and try something new with each shoot.

Working with different people is another big part of it. Every model brings their own energy, which allows me to create unique stories and emotions in the images. Most importantly, I stay open to challenges and feedback, keeping the creative process dynamic and evolving. It’s all about keeping the passion alive and never settling into a routine! 😊

10) What’s your best advice for someone who wants to start shooting boudoir photography?

If you’re just starting with boudoir photography, here’s my best advice:

Focus on trust: Building trust with your clients is essential. Boudoir photography is deeply personal, so make sure your communication is clear, respectful, and reassuring.

Create a comfortable environment: Your studio or location should feel safe, welcoming, and private. The more relaxed your client is, the better the results.

Master your lighting: Soft, flattering light is key in boudoir photography. Experiment with natural light, diffusers, or softboxes to create that perfect glow.

Know your posing: Study and practice poses that flatter different body types. Guiding your client confidently through poses will make them feel at ease and look amazing.

Prioritize storytelling: Boudoir is about more than just looking good—it’s about emotion, empowerment, and personality. Let your images tell a story.

Respect boundaries: Always have clear agreements about what’s comfortable for your client and respect their limits.

Lastly, keep learning and experimenting! Boudoir photography is as much about the connection as it is about the technical aspects, so focus on both, and you’ll create something truly special. 😊
