I can´t say one specific thing. You know it´s like I see some beautiful girl on the street and my mind “takes a photo” of her. Later I use for example her hair in my drawing/painting. I am fascinated by woman beauty. I think this is neverending inspiration for many artists.
I often use my dreams in my art, I´ve had really strange and sometimes uncomfortable dreams at night since my childhood so I grab some pieces of my crazy dreams and put them into the art.
Another inspiration comes from movies – for example Lolita, Only lovers left alive, Maléna, Dracula (1992).. and many many others. These movies I´ve mentioned are just amazing visual source for my imagination.
But despite of all visual inspiration in the world the best source are my own feelings of course. I like to draw some secret thoughts of my own which are supposed to be hidden but I just want to gently uncover them to the others. So when somebody breaks my heart you can bet I´ll be drawing every day! 🙂
Never? 🙂 It´s really rare to hear me saying: „Completely done, 100% satisfied”. Almost everytime I do something it´s like – hmmm, ok this is not enough, it needs something. So I do one extra dot on the universe background and maybe this is it? 😀 So my work is not finished but maybe finished. Mostly I need to ask somebody else for his opinion, this is really helpful to see your art by different eyes 🙂
When my mom gave me a pencil and paper? Was this an art? 🙂 I don´t know because I´ve been drawing/painting my whole life and it´s hard to say when I started to make an “real” art. But yes I´ve started to focus more for my works in last 2 years maybe :-). Like I said in the “inspiration part” I´ve had very strange dreams since my childhood and this is connected with my imagination and need of getting my demons/whatever out.
Simply – how did anyone start making what they loved the most? They just started and found out – Wow, this is it and I can´t live without it!
If it´s meantioned like which artists influences me the most? Hard question because If you want to hear some names of artists who influences me.. I just don´t know :). Yes I am fascinated by works of many and many artists and for example a lot of photographers have so beautiful photos that I just want to re-draw them all. 🙂 And actually I did it once! The photographer Louis Rakovich has so amazing works (you totally have to follow him on Instagram!) so I feel a lot of inspiration when I see his photos.
So this is maybe a similar question to “What inspires me” :). I don´t have any “idols” I just like to see and respect the art of the others.
Painting is such a big word for my (mostly) small size works :-). I use water colors, markers and ink pens, so it´s a combination of drawing and painting.
But how much time does it take to complete my work? It depends if I start with a clear vision of what I want to do or if I just grab a blank paper and waiting for muse :). In general if I know what I want to draw/paint it takes 3-5 hours maybe (just drawing, not sketching or thinking about the whole idea). I prefer smaller formats but I often do really tiny details and it takes a long time sometimes.
But you know like I said before – it´s rare to feel 100% satisfied and complete with your work 🙂
