Get a glimpse into the world of Andrey Izmaev, a talented photographer who specializes in boudoir, art, and fashion photography. With his candid insights and passion for the craft, he shares what drives his artistry and keeps his work fresh and inspiring.

1. What gear and software do you rock for photoshoots?

Andrey Izmaev: I use Canon cameras. This doesn’t mean others are worse or better, but for me, they are easy to set up and use. For lenses, I prefer Tamron and recently Sigma. The source material I get with these lenses satisfies me completely.

2. What type of photography do you enjoy the most?

Andrey Izmaev: I work primarily in boudoir, art, and fashion. While each deserves separate attention, my favorite is whatever feels truly beautiful at the moment.

3. What kind of content are you currently creating?

Andrey Izmaev: I focus mainly on boudoir shoots, often mixing them with art and fashion. I’ve tried other genres like street style and landscapes, but they don’t captivate me as much as boudoir does.

4. Do you prefer planning your shoots in advance or improvising on the spot?

Andrey Izmaev: Preparation is everything. Clothes, makeup, hair, jewelry, location colors, and lighting temperature—all these details must be planned in advance for the best results.

5. What recent photo or project are you most proud of?

Andrey Izmaev: Last summer, I created a shoot symbolizing a butterfly emerging from a cocoon. It was filmed at 5 a.m. outdoors, and the results were amazing!

6. Why do you think boudoir photography is so popular with your audience?

Andrey Izmaev: I wouldn’t call boudoir photography “popular.” It’s beautiful and aesthetically pleasing, but it’s not a genre that attracts mass appeal. However, for me, it’s deeply rewarding.

7. Do you see yourself as more technically driven or creatively inspired?

Andrey Izmaev: I don’t fit neatly into either category. I pay attention to both technical and creative aspects, and that balance defines my work.

8. If you could work with any model, brand, or photographer, who would it be and why?

Andrey Izmaev: I’d love to work with Sybil A and Nancy Ace, as I see them as benchmarks of female beauty. However, my top model right now is Juicy Gao, who I work with frequently.

9. How do you keep your photography fresh and exciting?

Andrey Izmaev: The key is maintaining an interest in capturing the beauty of the female body. The moment I lose that passion, I’ll stop shooting. Hahaha!

10. What’s your best advice for someone starting in boudoir photography?

Andrey Izmaev: Build a strong portfolio. The better your photos, the more beautiful models will want to work with you. Otherwise, you risk staying unnoticed.

Final Thoughts

Andrey dedication to boudoir photography is clear in his attention to detail and passion for showcasing beauty. His insights remind us that preparation, creativity, and love for the craft are the keys to artistic success.
